Tropical Storm Andrea: First Named Storm of 2013 Season

Hurricane season officially kicked off on June 1st, and within just 1 week, there’s already a named storm threatening many Floridians with bad weather over the next few days. According to the National Weather Service in Miami, tropical storm warnings are in effect for many residents along Florida’s West Coast. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in late May predicted an “active” hurricane season with the Atlantic seeing three to six “major hurricanes” before the season ends in November.In fact, NOAA predicts 13 to 20 named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher).
