Personalized Power Systems is consistently staying on top of generator trends and regularly attends generator dealer meetings to stay on top of any new developments. At a recent dealer meeting that took place in Riverview, Florida, PPS was privy to some interesting insight in the realm of generator manufacturing.
Tampa Armature Works (TAW) brought in 84 dealers from the Gulf Coast and southeast states. Personalized Power Systems, who serves South Florida and Houston, Texas, was invited to attend. A key takeaway from this meeting? Kohler is taking giant strides to take on Generac, as well as Briggs and Stratton, in the residential generator industry.
Kohler is staying on top of the curve by making notable changes to their product:
-Kohler’s 20kw generator is now fire rated. This is an important factor due to Kohler units not fitting in small lot sizes in the past. Now, Kohler 20 kW units can be installed 18” from any combustible wall; they can be installed virtually anywhere. -Kohler also cut its residential pricing by 30%, making them the most affordable residential unit on the market. -Lastly, Kohler is using its sheer size to run a nationwide campaign. As a company, Kohler is a goliath compared to Briggs and Stratton or Generac.
