The forecast for this year’s hurricane season has been released, and it seems as though it’s going to be an active one. Earlier this month, Tropical Storm Andrea served as an indicator at how aggressive storms are predicted to be in 2013, and current predictions showed an increase in the average of number of hurricanes and tropical storms for this year’s season.
Three to six of these storms are predicted to turn into major hurricanes (with winds exceeding 111 mph) that are labeled as “catastrophic.” Since strong storms mean an increased chance of power outages, it’s important to protect your family with a generator from PPS today. NHC urges citizens to take action and to get ahead of the storm.
